Wave that flag James! Hopefully there are more championships to celebrate.
Joe contacted me a few weeks back asking me for some advice as he was going to London and he wanted to take his son (or vice-versa) to a football match, I said he a day out at Fulham would be great and told him about the club and the walk thru Bishops Park. I got an email last week from Joe he went to the Fulham Wigan game and enjoyed the day and of course that was the game where one "King of Pop" made a flying visit. Here is the email and pictures from that day
I wanted to get back to you on our super two weeks in London and our Saturday afternoon at Craven Cottage. Our flat was just south of New Kings Road, so it was easy to hop on the 22 bus down to Putney Bridge and walk through Bishops Park. My son had a great time on the big adventure playground, as we went a bit early and got great seats in the Riverside stand just five rows from the pitch.
We saw a good match and bought some gear, ate hamburgers and chrisps, and had a good all-round day at the match. We were still in London when Fulham clinched the 2nd Division a few days later, which got a lot of media coverage. I've attached some photos, I hope they're viewable.
An added bonus to the day was getting to see Michael Jackson, who was Mohamed AlFahed's guest for the match. They both walked around the pitch and waved at everyone before the match. No one sitting around us believed that it really was Michael Jackson - it was just some joker in a trench coat, hat and sunglasses. The fellow in front of me wanted to know if the
Pope was coming out next (you've heard that the Pope is a Fulham supporter). Anyway, it was on the news that evening, so it was really him.
Thanks for your advice. I'll be following Fulham's success in 1st Division next season. Cheers Joe Sanders Kennewick, WA
