Flyball Racing






Flyball is a fun sport. It is a race between 2 teams, each running 4 dogs at a time. Each dog has to run over 4 hurdles, activate a box spring, catch the tennis ball that shoots out and run back to the handler with the ball, jumping over all the hurdles. The team that has all 4 dogs do this with no mistakes wins. Flyball is noisy, fast and I love it!!!


I dont compete in flyball anymore. Mom made me stop in winter of 1999 cause I have arthritis and it was hurting me to keep running. I used to be on a team called Silver Bullets and last year I ran with Who's on First
Our last race as Silver Bullets was in June 1999. We won a Third Place ribbon! I won more ribbons last year with my new team. Mom made a big frame so she could hang all my ribbons and rosettes.

MEET SOME OF MY PAST TEAM PALS



MAGGIE

Maggie is a black and white border collie. She has an FM after her name. Thats because she runs real fast and is in almost every race, so she gets lots of points. Maggie can run 4.5 seconds, sometimes faster!! Her dad is Carlos. He runs Maggie first so he has to watch the lights and let her go at the right time - that is really hard but he is good at it.



TASHA

Guess by now you know that's me! I am a German Shepherd and I have an FDCh after my name. I dont run in every race so I dont get as many points but I won this title at our last tournament in October. I'm not as fast as Maggie and Tyson either. I usually run 6.1 seconds when I'm in a tournment. My mom, Pat, tries everything to get me to run faster back to her. But she has to know that I gotta stop and say hi to my dad, Ron (he's the box loader) and chew on that tennis ball on the way back. Cant be fast doing that.



AZORES

Azores is a Portuguese Water Dog and is getting faster. Azores has his FDCh too. He runs about 5.5 seconds too. His dad, Joe, gets really excited at flyball too, especially when we are running fast and he thinks we might win a ribbon. Moms and Dads really like ribbons. Azores lives with Amber.
