Sigma Tau Gamma Homecoming 1999

For Sig Taus, Homecoming 2006 is shaping up to be another splendid affair, as we are planning our third consecutive Reunion!

The accomplishments of our Recolinization Effort alone more than justify returning for Homecoming to celebrate. Of course, reuniting with friends from your undergraduate days, touring campus, and rejuvanating old memories will no doubt make you feel like a Freshman again! Please bring your family and join us, and persuade other Sig Taus you remain in contact with to do the same. We hope to see you in "Little California" in October!

P.S. Take a look at some old college pictures: Click here.

Itinerary for Homecoming 2006 (Note: Click on the colored items below to access their e-mail or website):

Friday, October 13th, 2006:

  • 9:30AM-5:00PM (Golf Outing): at Cedar Brook Golf Course (intersection of Interstate 70 & Route 51 near Belle Vernon, PA; 724.929.8300). Tee times start at 11:45AM. Consider arriving by 9:30 (several of us will gather in the lounge to reconnect prior to hitting the #1 tee; pairings will be determined at that time). Brother Vito Dentino, BI 218 (724.938.7745 (w) or 724.880.5349 (cell)), is coordinating this "mini" golf event. Greens fees are approx. $40 (includes cart). RSVP (required, please) with Vito NLT Monday, Oct 10th to ensure we have enough tee times reserved. Yes, the clubhouse sells Iron City beer, kielbasi, and fine cigars! Appropriate golf attire is requested.
  • 6:00PM-??? ("Beta Iota Bash"): at "Hugo's Restaurant" (Route 40 approx. 5 miles west of CUP; 724.632.6855). Note: we will not conduct a fund raiser this year, but we will gather to have dinner (individual orders, not buffet), drinks, play some cards (?), and enjoy each other's company. Spouses are cordially invited. Contact CUP Alumni Association Past President and Brother Pete Gialames, BI 220, or CUP Foundation Member and Brother Mike Napolitano, BI 230, for more information; they will lead the evening's festivities.

Saturday, October 14th, 2006:
  • 9:00AM-12:00PM (Pre-Parade Activities). Meet and loiter in front of Vito's Nationwide Insurance Agency office (321 Third Street). Also during this time (but prior to 12:00), feel free to tour campus (esp. the Alumni House; ensure you sign the Guest Book - add your BI# and "Sig Tau" letters!) and downtown California where you can enjoy local groups' food specialties (halushki, kielbasi, etc.). *NOTE*: Arrive early for parking is very limited (Parking sites TBD; *carpool, if possible).
  • 12:00-1:00 (Homecoming Parade).
  • 1:00-2:00 (Walkthrough of the new Fraternity House).
  • 2:00-4:30 (The Third Annual Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, Beta Iota Chapter, Alumni Reunion) - at the California Hill Gun Club (across from the tennis courts at The Farm). A buffet lunch will be hosted by the undergraduate Colony. PLEASE RSVP with our Undergraduate President, Ken Katona, at 724.328.2537 (cell) NLT Monday, October 3rd. Cost is $20/person (again, it is very important that you contact Ken by 3 Oct to forward an advance payment or, as a minimum, to verify your attendance). We anticipate a strong show of support by alumni as has been the case in each of the past two years! Several alumni and undergraduate brothers have worked tirelessly for the past decade to re-colonize our Beta Iota Chapter back on the campus of California University. Please make every effort to attend!
