Hi Everyone!--Returned from Indian Wells last night. Unfortunately did not get to see Pat's win against Corretja, but was most happy to boot up the computer to see that he won! Had wonderful seats for Pat's first 2 singles and the doubles. He is playing VERY well. Serve looks good and all the rest as well. It is great to see him moving well and feeling good.

Rafter Girls are doing a splendid job, as well. The crowd loves them and Pat appreciates their support as well. Have some pics of banners, roos, etc that I am having developed today.

I was extremely lucky for Pat and Lleyton's first doubles match. I had been camped out on the court they were scheduled to play in when a friend contacted me via the walkie-talkies we were using to tell me that their match had been moved to the main stadium and that it was in progress. When we got to our seats there I was stunned to see that I was sitting behind Roche and Lleyton's parents and next to Peter and Lara and a younger male. They had taken empty seats that happened to be by ours. I talked a bit to Peter between games and Lara a little as well. She was very very nice.

Peter said that Pat was feeling good about his game. I asked about the doubles at IW being a "practice" for DC and he said that their teaming up could possible be an option for Brasil. On a personal note for Peter, he was less enthusiastic about all the travel than he was last year when I spoke with him. He said he is sick of airports--especially Dallas/Ft. Worth! When I asked if the younger fellow sitting next to Lara was his youngest brother he said, "Yes." (I think that would be David.) He said he (David) was taking some time before going to university to be with Pat on the tour and go to the DC tie and then to Bermuda to see Pat's place as he has not done this before. You could see he was excited about everything. So cute.

When I asked her, Lara said she had arrived on Sunday and was going to be able to travel a bit with Pat now. She gave a lovely smile and brightened when we said how great that would be for them. It must be hard fending off jealous fans at times. She was really quite sweet and waved goodbye when they left after the match.

I had a wonderful time at Indian Wells and was especially sorry this year that we only go to the early rounds. It was super to see Pat playing so well and to meet, see and talk with the other Babblers. Nice people. Will get film developed today and send pics to Robyn if any turn out well.
