In former days only known for beer, brussels sprouts and chocolats Belgium now has a completely other attraction: a nationwide danball league. After almost one year of talking and people finding every excuse you ever heard in order not to play February 5th was the BIG day. Two brandnew teams met in Brugge to decide who would go home with the prestigious Wymar cup:

Keep
in mind that at this time of the year it's winter in Western Europe so
by the time we started to play it was completey dark. However, thanks to
the support of a big store we had the perfect light! The game itself was
great. Though the fantastic Always Forever ladies were in much better
shape the Heavy BP's had the advantage of their weight and managed
to win the first game 10-7. By that time we got pretty hungry indeed so
coach/organiser and flying dutchman Rob, with precious help from
Spider, managed to get some pizza's from a delivery girl named Sandra
who incidentally is not the lady on the picture...
As everybody still was very much into playing the game we changed the teams a little and had another go. Just one game later (10-8) somebody all of a sudden turned off the lights so we were forced to stop. Bruised fingers, legs and other parts were cared for and there it was, the moment everybody had been waiting for, the presentation of the much wanted Wymar Cup.
One thing is for
sure, as we all discovered how much fun it is to play Danball, we will
be playing again soon!
