![]() ![]() ![]() A graduate of Lincoln High School and Bethany College, Barry has a Master of Educaton from Penn State. An accomplished athlete, he was New York State 100 Breastroke Champion in 1964 and 1965. He was named to the All Presidents Conference and was a seven time NAIA All-American. In 1997, he was honored by Bethany College by being named to its Athletic Hall of Fame. ![]() Barry has been the head coach of TVSC for 18 years. During his tenure, he has coached a Junior National Champion, Junior and Senior National Qualifiers, Top16 Nationally Ranked swimmers over 50 times and 10 consecutive County Championship Teams. ![]() ![]() ![]() At Sachem, he earned All League and All County for all four years and represented Sachem at the Empire State Games in his Junior year. At TVSC, Brad was a member of the Metro Zone All Star Team. He was recently honored by being named the Assistant Coach for the Metropolitan Winter Zone Team and Co-Head Coach for the Metro Summer Zone Team. ![]() ![]() ![]() Paul swam for TVSC from 1975 -1982 and four years at Ward Melville High School. He recently represented TVSC at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado for the U.S. Swimming Coaches Clinic. ![]() ![]() ![]() He was born and raised in the Netherlands and was a middle-distance freestyle swimmer and water polo player for his Dutch swim club, while in HS and college. ![]() After receiving his engineering degree in the summer of 1979, he came to the US for a job in Santa Clara, California. Before and after work he trained for one year with the well-known Santa Clara Swim Club, coached at that time by Mitch Ivy. One of his teammates was the 15 year old Pablo Morales, who later became the 100 fly Olympic Champion in Barcelona 1992. In the summer of 1980, Peter went back to the Netherlands and competed in the Dutch Long Course Nationals, finishing in top 8 in the 100, 200 and 400 meter freestyle. ![]() Peter became a US Citizen in 1990. The Smit family moved from California to Newtown in 1991 and moved from Newton to Mount Sinai in the summer of 1999.
