TETLEY FIGURES

The “Tetley” Corinthian Figures were released in Apr ’98 they were given away in white packets of one or two figures depending on the amount of tea bags you bought.  They are slightly smaller than normal Corinthian figures also they don’t have a football at their feet like the others.  There were around 200,000 – 250,000 of each of the eleven figures made which is why the CRV is so low (200).  There were some rarities to come out of this series though.
Gary McAllister was part of this series but was never given away with the boxes of tea bags.

You had to send £2.00 away to get this figure which has a CRV of a very nice 4,500, which works out at around 12,000, produced.  There was also a 12 Player stand, which you could send away for, priced around £5.00.

Now the real rarity, before the promotion there were 500 Tetley 12 Packs produced by Corinthian so that the figures could be shown round shops and supermarkets.  The managers could then see what they were and therefore order MORE Tetley Tea Bags to compete with the demand of customers who would collect these cool figures.  With only 500 Tetley 12 packs made and virtually all of them falling into the hands of non-collectors you can only guess of how many remain intact but my guess would be very few indeed.
