CAIRMAN'S LETTER 1
Hi there all you waveskiers and welcome to 1997. 96 was an exciting year for waveskiing and put NWSA on the map when it comes to administration of large events. I appologise for not getting back to you earlier but our computer system has been playing up (Big excuse!!) and we have SO MANY people who like writing letters (that's why this one is so short). Well done to all those of you that made the National Squad for 1997 - you deserve it!!
Our development program has been very succesful in 1996 and will continue in 1997. As you know Blessing achieved 4th place in the world in his division and the other guys are right up there behind him. All our development chaps come down to the beach regularly after school and we have seen great improvement since we first took them on 10 months ago. This year we will be taking on new guys but we need more trainers and development officers. We hope to be paying development officers this year (Sponsers!!!). If anyone knows of a sponser please let the committee know as soon as possible.
Oh great!! - we have to pay again. Unfortunately Subs are important to the survival of the association and we ask you guys (and girls) to part with a little of your money to keep us going. We will not be increasing our rates this year and will stay at the Normal Members price of R150 a year for male/female and R80 a year for Juniors/Family Members. Subs may be paid in three instalments (R150 member) or two instalments (R80 member). We note that your first payment of R50 is due by 25th of February, as we have to log your names with SAWSA by the 28th February. We are unable to produce INVOICES at this time as our computer invoice system has crashed - Please take this as notice of your payment. Please see your timetable for more information.
We have quite a few events lined up for the year and I think it's best if you review our timetable for the list of events.
