The biggest of them all in all senses of the word, Mr. Barnard is our Economics tutor and the head of the humanities department. He often bemoans the fact that some students tend to fall asleep during his lectures (it's nothing personal, Mr. Barnard!). In our recent poll, he was voted the Homecoming Queen =) Mr. Barnard likes beer and blue shirts (we've only ever seen him in a shirt of another colour twice and it was the same one--an orange polo t-shirt! we didn't see him in that t-shirt he wore in the picture above either) and hates Teachers' Day and stuff like that. Oh yeah and he NEVER turns up for the Humanities Party every year.
Mr. Barnard!!! Don't be anti-social!!
Mr. Burge is our other Literature tutor. He reads Chaucer magnificently!! We were all dumbfounded during that first lesson, I remember, when he started reading, "Experience tho noon auctoritee/Were in this world/Were right ynough for me/To speke of the woe that is in mariage..." (uh, I think I got that wrong; I've forgotten!!!) just as if he'd lived in Chaucer's time all along (not that we would know if people in that time DID sound like that cuz we didn't live then... err...). Mr. Burge blushes when he starts laughing, also laughs at his own jokes, and takes to weird ideas very easily... (uh yeah, the Claudius being Hamlet's father thing... strangely fitting, isn't it?)
Mr. Miles is our incredibly comical History tutor, who can probably make a living as a stand up comic if he didn't want to be a History teacher (no, come to think of it, he didn't want to be a History teacher in the first place). He regales us with stories during our Polo breaks during History class--weird stories about the goldfish, razor and golf balls (an encounter in Thailand!), falling into toilets on ships, maids, and so on. Definitely the most entertaining History teacher ever.
Mr. Harry
Mr. Harry's really hilarious!!! He scares the juniors by growling at them when they come into the classroom during our 'S' Lit classes to collect their bags, and he's a self-confessed SEXIST male. He gestures a lot when he speaks, often very appropriately. Yes! It makes us laugh!! He also likes telling jokes and laughing at them himself. He is such a punny person. Oh yes, he is our Literature tutor and also 97A15's Civic Tutor... He loves the Teletubbies!!
Mr. Harry!!!! You should run for our Cross-Country this year!!!
Mr. Burge
Mr. Burge!!! Stay the way you are!!
Mr. Miles
Mr. Miles!! Get well soon!! We miss you when you fall ill (aawww...)!!
Mr. White
Mr. White's the Geography tutor and oft-bullied by the rest! He is such a nice man and a GREAT Geog teacher. We celebrate his birthday every year.... this year we gave him a Parker pan with his name engraved on it (it is a beeyoootiful pen). Many students are besotted with him, among them, Shir Nee (who fiercely defends him against any abuse and is jealous of Bobby, the top Geography student, for reasons which are other than academic!) and Ing Ing (who has sooo much to talk to him about =P).... Oh yes! Mr. White looked sooo good when he was young; we have his picture on the class notice board. Hunk-e-licious, bay-beee!
Mr. White!!!! We like your accent!
