My beliefs, standards and life style
ultimately spring from relationship with God and what He has revealed to me to be truth. I try not to be a religious person but spiritual but my religion does have an impact on my life. The major doctrines and beliefs of my church are Fundamental
Beliefs in the Seventh-day Adventist Church which are based on
the word of God.
I believe in
God the Father, God the Son- Jesus through whom I have salvation and God
the Holy Spirit who comforts and guides me.God in all His wisdom and love
as set aside a special day which is the 7th day - Sabbath this is
the time that I can set aside every worry or care and concentrate solely
on God's love and praising His holy name. I realized the importance
and true meaning of this day when I came to university. What a great
God we serve. I have a blessed hope that Jesus Christ will
return to this earth and gather his remnant and I strive through
the aid of the Holy Spirit to prepare myself for His return.
My
study
"Study to show thyself
approved unto God..."
In these last
days it is indeed important to be well rooted in the word of God.
As such Bible study has come to mean so much more to me.
The daily study
of the Sabbath
School Quarterly is so much more easier now that it is available
on the internet with references, scripture links and Bible helps.
This quarter we are studying about God's Creation and taking deeper look
into the creation story, the fall of man and it's impact on nature. I have
also used additional Bible Studies with lesson which I have found to be
very helpful. Cameron Law gives
an excellent approach to the lesson and is especially helpful to those
who have to teach the lesson.
In addtion to this there are the daily devotionals.
I have recently recieved the Bible Explorer Version 2.0 software which
is excellent as it contains so much things. From about 11 different versions
of the bible to maps, commentaries, bible dicitionaries, study notes and
guides and concordances. I recommended it to anyone. For more information
try Bible Explorer.
Spirit of Prophecy
God has blessed our church with the Spirit of Prophecy which we have in the form of writings from Ellen G. White. These serve as aid in the understanding of His word and has been very instrumental personally in Bible study. There are many books written by Ellen G. White and you can enjoy some of them on the internet and learn more about this source. I have also obtained a copy of all of her books on a CD which is very helpful and convienent for studying and preparing messages.
