Eureka College Republican Member Biographies

Chairman Josh Carter
Josh Carter, junior, is the Chairman of the Eureka College Republicans. Josh is a strong conservative who graduated from Garden City High School in Garden City, Kansas. He plans to get a masters degree following graduation and specialize in foreign policy analysis. He is also active in the Disciples On Campus group at Eureka College. Josh maintains a website of his own political thought.

Vice-Chair Tera Harris
Tera Harris hails from Aurora, IL. She is a senior at Eureka College with a double major in Business Administration and Communication. In addition to her involvement in ECRs, she is also the President of the Delta Zeta sorority. In 1998, she did a public relations internship in Washington D.C. for Peter Hannaford at the Franklin Firm. In the summer of 1999, she interned at the Young America's Foundation in Herndon, VA. Currently, she is employed in the investment field at the Investment Center in Eureka, IL.

Parliamentarian Eric Anderson
Eric Anderson hails from Springfield, Illinois. Eric graduated in 1998 from Lanphier High School in Springfield. Anderson plays football for Eureka College. He is also a member of the Eureka Business Society.

State Treasurer Ron Poliquin
A street smarts leader who originally hails from New Jersey, Ron Poliquin is a senior and currently is the Treasurer of the Illinois College Republican State Federation. He has also been the chairman of the Eureka College Republicans serving in both the 1997-1998 and 1998-1999 academic years. Before college, Poliquin attended Lenape High School in Medford, New Jersey. While in high school, Poliquin was founder and President of the Burlington County Teenage Republicans and served a term in 1994 as a Congressional Page. He volunteered on numerous local, state, and national campaigns. He was profiled in 1995 in the book A Student's Guide to Volunteerism. At Eureka, Poliquin continued his service to the Republican Party through campaigns, fundraising, and community service. In 1998, he served as Woodford County coordinator for the Fitzgerald for U.S. Senate campaign. Like his hero, Ronald Reagan, Poliquin plays offensive line for the Eureka football team and earned all-conference honors last year. He works on the weekend as bouncer at Bogie's Nightclub in Bloomington, IL. A well respected leader on campus and in the community, Poliquin is often given credit for revitalizing the College Republicans on campus and leading the charge for the consevative cause. He plans to attend law school in the New Jersey area after graduating.
