Welcome! Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. This web page is a result of a collaboration with one of my students Ed Papa. He has been helping me to collect a number of resources here to enable parents, students, and other teachers to access a variety of topics and related web sites to better learn or teach American History.

We plan to link the power point presentations used in class to the curriculum explanation found on the Upper Darby High School Royal Net. This will enable students to see what they missed when absent or preview coming units.

The textbook Pathways to the Present (Prentice Hall) has an excellent web site which includes related web resources and practice tests for each unit. The three novels used in class Uncle Tom’s Cabin, The Jungle, and All Quiet on the Western Front are also connected to a variety of web resources.

You will also find a list of films that can be viewed for extra credit that will help students gain a better understanding of the course content. Students should write a one page reaction paper explaining how the film is important or connected to the history learned in class. What they learned by viewing the film and how this film added to their understanding of American History. Avoid merely writing a summary of the film.
