Comments From Our Readers
And Revolutionary Replies
Greetings, correspondents of the Libertarian Revolution!
This department of the Nation Of Liberty Website is devoted to preserving interesting questions and comments from our visitors and correspondents. Its purpose is to promote revolutionary dialogue by presenting questions and comments submitted to us, along with relevant replies from NOL personnel and supporters, and visitors to the NOL Website. It is hoped that this format will be more useful for revolutionary research and reference (RRR) than the rambling and chaotic dialogues commonly encountered in political website guestbooks, e-mail discussion lists, usenet discussion groups, etc..
Though this is an edited forum, every effort will be made to present correspondents' views, evidence, and reasoning in a fair and accurate way, in their own words, and to keep replies concise, reasonable, and to the point.
If you wish to add your own replies on any of these topics, or raise new topics, simply submit your questions or comments via e-mail or the NOL Guestbook. We will include in this section as many useful, interesting, controversial, and relevant submissions as time and labor permit.
Language: Tool of Tyranny or Revolution?
(Added 5-31-2000)
Are libertarians unwittingly promoting tyranny by using the same words and ideas as tyrants? Should we avoid using words like "government", "law", and "Constitution"? Or can we promote liberty by using the same words to mean different things? Read this neurolinguistic tussle between NOL Chairman Brow and Frederick Mann of Free World Order fame. Guest appearance by EuroLibertarian Xavier Pregentil.
The Panama Canal And US Imperialism
(added 11-16-1999)
Recently the John Birch Society sent out an e-mail alert, advising its members to support an act of Congress repealing the 1977 Panama Canal Treaty, which is due to turn the Panama Canal over to the government of Panama on December 31st, 1999. "Losercor" wrote back to the JBS, denouncing a repeal of the treaty as dishonorable, and CC'd this correspondence to NOL Headquarters. Chairman Brow comments on the Panama Canal, its history, its implications for US foreign policy, and on imperialism in general.
Pat Buchanan And Foreign Policy
(Added 11-14-1999)
The addition of Pat Buchanan's "New Patriotism" speech to this website spurred some interesting discussion of foreign policy and national defense issues. See some libertarian perspectives on these issues, which are all too often given a one-sided, pro-interventionist treatment in the Official Media. Also touches on the Reagan legacy and the diversionary use of foreign policy issues.
Consent Of The Governed?
(Added 5-10-1999)
If people do not oppose a law or government action, does that mean they "consent" to it? Libertarians say no. One statist eloquently says yes. Result? An interesting dialogue on an important philosophical issue.
NATO Versus Yugoslavia: An Exchange
(Added 3-27-1999)
NATO/US Imperialists bomb Yugoslav mass-murderers. Chairman Brow and his buddy Rick from Sweden discuss it. Includes interesting news release on the topic from the LPUSA. Regrettably, Rick's opening salvo has been lost; search efforts are underway.
Important Points Raised By Nazi-Slayer
(3-20-1999)
Equality, imperialism, plutocracy, social welfare, brainwashed youth, utopianism and the End Of History. Is there no topic too earth-shaking for the fearless Nazi-Slayer, from the famous "Nazis Are Fags" website? With reply and commentary by the NOL's own Chairman Brow.
