George R. Wilmer

On my better days, I'm an electrical engineer specializing in telecommunications. You know, that digital and RF stuff: microwave, satellite, land mobile radio, LAN / WAN, etc. And I know that I'm lucky... I actually love the work that I do!

I've had some of the best jobs in the world... and out of this world (no, this is a little too far out of this world for me). I've had a lot of experience in the Department of Defense and NASA arenas, as well as extensive commercial experience.

For more information on what it is that I've done in the past and continue to do presently, take a look at my resume
. Maybe you'll find something that I could do for your company in the future.

One of my favorite pastimes has always been travel. And I've been pretty fortunate - I've managed to see 16 foreign countries and 42 of our own states during the last 25 years or so. And I've become multi-lingual in the process!

I've gotten to meet people from all over the world, dine on some of the most unique foods, and experience life unlike most people that grew up in my urban Pittsburgh neighborhood. What's it been like? Let me share a few memories from my international travels.
..

So what do I do when I'm not doing anything at all?

The list of things that I like to do in my spare time
could be endless... basically, I'm just really learning how to take life a lot slower, not take myself so seriously, and just learn to accept life as it comes. Admittedly, sometimes that's not so easy, but I keep trying.

Most importantly, I've finally come to realize that it's the quality of the people that I surround myself with that put serenity and joy into my life. I just need to thank all of you
for getting me to this point in my life.
