I do apologize if there was no blog posted up for Wednesday March 4, 2009. I have been sick. I caught the cold Saturday evening. I been coughing, sneezing, and having a sore throat. It is not fun to be sick.

I Deserve The Extra Day Off

I caught a cold last Saturday in which it was a sore throat at first but as the days past by and I was working until Monday it gotten worse. One of my managers came back from her vacation on Monday in which she was sick as well with no voice and it made my cold even worse. I develop a stuffy nose and horrible cough in which I am currently recovering from it. I mainly stay home on Tuesday and Wednesday in which it was suppose to rain those two days in which it did not. All I saw from my house window was a cloudy sky. As Thursday roll over I still did not fully recover from my cold and I had to call in sick which I did not mind. I needed the extra day off from work and I deserve to call in anyways. I work real hard at Sam’s Club and they should appreciate how much hard work I do at my job. I was not going to get anyone at my job sick. I’ll admit I never call in sick ever since I started working at Sam’s Club. I have call in sick during my previous jobs (Good Guys and Mervyn’s). Whenever I am ill I try to work it through at my job but this time I just had to call it in. Luckily my manager understood my situation. I should have stayed home while I was sick but I took the advantage to go down to San Francisco State University to turn in paperwork for the Fall Semester. I needed to get out since I stay home both Tuesday and Wednesday. The weather was good on Thursday and I took full advantage of it.

Anchor Blue Pass Me By

I called back Anchor Blue on Thursday to schedule an appointment for them to set up an interview since I was unable to do the day that they wanted me to come in. It took me three days to get in hold of the person that wanted to interview me since she was off those days that I call in. I finally got a hold of her after I got out of my last class on Thursday. She told me that she could not give me the interview due to my availability. Apparently the schedule that they were looking for was a flexible schedule which I did not have since I had classes until noon on Tuesday and Thursday. I don’t think they were looking for a student to work for the position. The position that I turn in my resume on CareerBuilder was a part time lead sales associate. It was a supervisor position in which I think I fit the description. I work at Mervyn’s for five years which I have good experience working for a clothes department store. I am disappointed that I did not get the job but at least I did called back to schedule an interview.
