Space Station Assembly Flight ISS-03 (SPACEHAB/DM,ICC)
The second shuttle docking with the International Space Station will complete initial outfitting of the station, making it fully ready for the first long-term crew. The seven-member crew will transfer almost two tons of equipment and supplies from the Space Shuttle Atlantis. Also, they will unpack a shipment of supplies delivered earlier by a Russian Progress space tug and begin outfitting the newly arrived Zvezda Service Module.

SPACEHAB Logistics Double Module

The purpose of the double spacehab flight 2A.1 is to provide a logistics flight for the early assembly missions. Produce Flight 2A.1 will carry equipment to further outfit the service module and equipment that can be off-loaded from the early US assembly flights
-Capacity of up to 10,000 lbs with the ability to accommodate powered payloads.
-Four external rooftop stowage locations
-Four double-rack locatons (two powered)
-Up to 61 bulkhead-mounted middeck locker locations
-Floor storage for large unique items and Soft StowageŽ
Three astronauts will perform two space walks to transfer and install parts of the Russian Strela cargo boom connect utility cables between Zarya and Zvezda and install a magnetometer/pole assembly on the Service Module.

STS-101 astronauts also will work with the Space Experiment Module (SEM-06), and the Mission to America's Remarkable Schools (MARS), two educational initiatives.

Follow-on investigations with soybeans and protein crystals will highlight two commercial payloads on the upcoming STS-101 mission. Currently scheduled for January of 2000, the mission will carry the ASTROCULTURE(TM) and Commercial Protein Crystal Growth commercial research facilities.
