Hi there!

This page serves to provide a little information about myself, and show a few of my better photos (in my opinion, anyway) that I couldn't find a place for anywhere else.

My Dad's boat being

launched in the spring.

Although these days I mostly live in or around Halifax, Nova Scotia, I spent the first 18 years of my life in the small town of Liverpool, Nova Scotia.

I have just finished a CO-OP Bachelor of Civil Engineering program. For me, this consisted of two years at an associate university (Dalhousie University) where I received my Diploma of Engineering, and then three years at the Technical University of Nova Scotia (TUNS). I graduated in October of 1998.

very cold morning.
Some of my hobbies include sailing, curling, reading, amateur photography (if you can call it that), and tinkering with my web page. I have my own Laser which I like to sail, when I get the chance (not often!) and during the winter of 1997 I was a member of the Halifax Curling Club.

LaHave river.

During the summer of 1996, I was on a Work Term with the Halifax Regional Municipality, working out of the Bedford Construction Services office. I went around looking at construction sites, telling people what they were doing wrong. Fun, eh?

In January of 1997, I went on yet another four month work term, this time with the Canadian Hydrographic Service, the Atlantic Region headquarters being situated at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography.

In the fall of 1997, I worked for the Department of Natural Resources CANMET (Canadian Metals and Energy Technology Lab) in Sudbury, Ontario. I tested different soil samples using various different test methods, among other things (like freezing my butt off - Sudbury is cold!).

In October of 1998, I graduated from the TUNS Bachelor of Civil Engineering CO-OP program. I got my Iron Ring on April 25th. At the end of July, 1998, I started work for BFC Civil (formerly Foundation Maritime). BFC is a large Canadian construction company, and my first job was estimating quantities and scheduling for the construction of the concrete foundations for the new Gas Plant in Goldboro, NS. I now work out of Eastern Passage, near Halifax, NS.
