DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!

December 28, 1997....A Sunday morning I'll never forget. A day that changed my life forever. It started out as usual. We we over at my mom & dad's house, I think we had just eaten breakfast. Then the phone rang. Mom picked it up and said, "Oh, Hi Alvin" to my uncle. Then came the look of fear. Mom's body just froze, then she screamed. My grandfather was visiting my uncle and his family in Florida at the time. Well, he had left the night before around midnight (he always drove at night, especially on long trips). He always felt safer driving at night to avoid traffic. Alvin began to give us the details of what had happened. Grandpa had reached the panhandle of Florida, when a drunk driver entered the interstate going the wrong way. There just wasn't enough time for Grandpa to avoid collision. He was carrying a tractor back with him in the bed of his truck. When they made impact, Grandpa was crushed.

Had THAT man chose not to drink, or even called a friend or a family member, my grandfather would be alive today. Please DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!!! The pain that it causes is unbearable. Please THINK before you DRINK and designate a driver.
