An article appeared in the Cape Breton Post. The story revolved around the dedication it takes to be a competitive dancer as well as the commitment of the dancer and their families. Some students from the school who compete regularly appeared in the picture.

The 2001 Annual Competition included a choreography event. Two of our Dance Troupe numbers placed first in their respective groups.

The dance "Cry of the Celts" tied for first place in the Age 11 & under category. The dancers are Jessica Layton, Shonagh Peck, Jacklyn Halliday and Katie MacKenna. Congratualations, Girls!

        EAST COAST MUSIC AWARDS APPEARANCE

Okay, so they are dancing in these pictures. These were taken during a practice.

The troupe was invited to perform during the opening number of the live show. Here they are practicing with the Barra MacNeils in the background.

See, we knew Aselin before she was soooooo popular.

This is Aselin Debison (hope I spelled that right!). She opens the show with Bruce Gouthro. WOW, what a big voice in a very little girl.

And this is the director of the show, Shelagh O'Brien. Thanks for all your patience, Shelagh!

Here are a couple of more action pics from the opening number.

Keep tuned for more pictures coming soon!!!
