Brighter days was built in 1985 and is one of the last Glander 33's built. From what I've found out about the boats they were built as mostly kit boats, finished off by the owners.
The layout on this Glander is unique. Starting from the stern and working forward there is a huge storage locker aft of the mizzen mast. A roomy cockpit where you can stretch out full length on the bench seats. Down the companionway hatch there is a quarterberth to starboard, aft of the starboard galley. To port is the head, aft of a six foot settee berth. Forward is the master cabin with a double berth to port and storage to starboard. Forward the master cabin is a sail locker with a large deck hatch and finally there is the anchor locker with an easy access panel.
For a 33 foot boat she is amazingly roomy but be advised there is only 5'10" of headroom.
The engine is a 1988 Perkins Perama 30 hp with unknown hours. The starter is new in 2008 as is the raw water impeller. The mainsheet and traveler cars are new in 2008. The rigging was recently redone throughout using norseman fitting top and bottom. But the best addition to this boat was a heavily built bow roller system that can take a claw and delta anchor side by side.
She's built as a bahamas boat with a three foot draft that will take you places most 33 foot monohulls could never go. For working to windward there is a centerboard that extends the draft to 6 feet. There are 5 opening ports and two forward hatches for great airflow even in the hottest weather.
She's lying in Charleston, SC and can be seen by appointment. Please call 262-707-8404 or email rendezvousgrill@yahoo.com.
