`Description`

 

 

 

    Upper parts are grayish to cinnamon, with black markings forming streaks on the neck or elongated spots on the body.  They can be pale yellow, tawny oranges, gray, rust gray, cinnamon, and dark brown in colour with cream coloured under shading.  Young Ocelots are darker than adults.

   They are the largest of the small spotted cats measuring 36" to 40" (80 to 100 cm) in length, 18" to 24" (46 to 60 cm) in height, and its tail may be 12" to 20" (30 to 50 cm).  They usually weigh about 25 to 35 pounds (11.3 to 15.9 kg).

   Their life span may be from 10 to 13 years in the wild, and up to 20 years in a zoo.
