In the book of Matthew (7:21-23) we find this strange passage by Jesus:
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, lord, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that Day, 'Lord, lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons, and in your name perform many miracles?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you who practice anomos.'"
Would Jesus know today's Christians? Christians claim that a person can never DO anything to get to heaven. They claim that salvation is not dependent upon obedience to G-d's Commandments. Contrarily, Jesus states that it is the one who DOES the will of the Father who will enter and that he does not know the one who practices anomos.
Was Jesus speaking of Christians? Do Christians call Jesus “Lord?” Do Christians claim prophesy in Jesus’ name? Do Christians perform miracles in Jesus’ name? Do Christians cast out demons in Jesus’ name? Do Christians do anomos?
What is anomos? Anomos literally means "without the Mosaic Law." Contrary to Christian teaching, the Mosaic Law is not the Ten Commandments, though the Ten Commandments are included in the Mosaic Law. The Mosaic Law is called Torah, and Torah is the first five books of the Bible. It contains 613 Commandments. Anomians go through life without Torah, the Mosaic Law, the Commandments given by G-d. Though the Christian bible contains the Mosaic Law, they teach that Jesus nailed this Law to the cross and therefore we are free from obedience to the Law and it is not to be practiced.
The Greek word "anomian" is translated LAWLESSNESS in the NASV translation (note the capitalization of all the letters), iniquity in the KJV, and evildoers in others. These are mistranslations done to protect Christianity as it exists today. The truth of the matter is the Christian religion did not exist in Jesus’ time. The followers of Jesus were not Christian and did not believe in Christianity. They worshipped exactly the way Jews did at that time and believed in and practiced the Mosaic Law the way Jews did then.
Anomos has the root nomos. In the context of Judaism, nomos means Torah or Law of Moses. It does not mean law, it means Law. On our language, we do not use "god" for THE G-d and we do not use the word "law" for THE Law (G-d's Law). Anomos is Lawlessness not lawlessness.
As you know, a gnostic person is one who has knowledge, while the agnostic is one without knowledge. A theist believes in a god while the atheist lives without a god. One has mournful feeling for a pathetic person, while the apathetic person is without feeling. The prefix "a" means "without." The one living with the Mosaic Law is nomian while the one living without it is anomian.
Anomians operate without Torah. Nomians choose the Written and Oral Torah and follow the Seat of Moses, that is, rabbis who are given biblical authority to interpret Scripture. (Exodus 18) Anomians follow their own interpretation of Scripture, their own heart or those unauthorized to interpret such as friends or the leaders of their churches.1
It is interesting to note that of all the English translations extant, anomos is NEVER translated correctly. Only one version, the New American Standard translation comes close. Except for the word anomos, the quote above is from that translation.
The New American Standard Bible translators did a very clever thing to hide the true message from the New Testament student. They make it as if Jesus was quoting Psalms, yet the two passages do not match. Anyone can verify this is so by examining their study bible. The Jewish Mesoretic Hebrew passage does not match the Church's Greek Septuagint. The Hebrew text reads, "Depart from me all [who] do contemptuously."
According to Jesus the Law of Moses is to remain in effect until heaven and earth are gone. It is not to remain until the new covenant as the churches claim. (Matthew 5:17-20)
Jesus taught to obey all the teachings of the Pharisees because they sit in the rabbinical Seat and therefore have been handed down authority from G-d to interpret Scripture. (Matt. 23:1,2) Today’s Orthodox rabbis are Pharisaic. This can be verified simply by asking them.
Paul and James said that they observed the Law of Moses and Jewish traditions completely and they taught that Jews must do the same. Paul was falsely accused of teaching that the Mosaic Law was no longer applicable. (Acts 21:20-25) Paul denied such accusation and much of the Book of Acts is spent explaining his defense. (Acts 21-27, esp. 24:10-16)
But Paul, a Pharisee like the Orthodox rabbis of today, taught that gentiles can accept and fear the G-d of Israel. They can repent and turn to the One and Only true G-d, Creator of all people, and be righteous. Paul taught that such could be convicted by G-d to follow the Commandments revealed at Sinai to the Jew who is then obligated to give to the gentile.
So what then, am I to keep the Sabbath? Absolutely not! Though G-d has given 613 Commandments which teach us how to live, they must be observed in the context of application. For example, only Jews must do the Ten Commandments. (They must observe all 613 Commandments as laid out in the Torah.
Are Christians going to hell then? The context of the Mosaic Law teaches that gentiles only have seven Noahide Commandments to follow. These are not part of the Ten Commandments as Christians claim everyone should follow. They are the commandments Noah inherited. Four of them are actually taught in the book of Acts on three different occasions. The remainder are taught elsewhere in the New Testament.
The Noahide Commandments: Most major religions teach in an incidental way to observe the Noahide Commandments. Therefore, no matter what religion or philosophy one chooses, he who obeys such has his share in the World-to-Come (“Heaven.”). These Laws are: 1) To not blaspheme G-d; 2) To not commit idolatry; 3) To not steal; 4) To not murder; 5) To not be sexually immoral; 6) To not remove the limb of a living animal; 7) To make and observe courts of justice. Each person is best to answer his degree of righteousness relative to his faith but the test is governed by these seven Commandments. One might judge himself and how his religion teaches them or not.
In self examination, on might ask himself the following: Do I attribute to Jesus what really belongs to G-d?. Do I use Jesus as a mediator through which I approach G-d? Do I give my employer honest work or use his equipment for personal gain?. Do I practice abortion? Do I marry several times? Do I remove my pet's tails, ears, or sex organs? Do I manipulate the courts for self gain? If you redesign G-d into three entities instead of worship Him as One, you both blaspheme Him and commit idolatry. If you practice abortion, you may be a murderer. If you take a pen from work, or use your employer's equipment for personal gain, you steal. If you use a prisoner as a witness to prosecute another, you are not observing justice. If you are promiscuous, or are an adulterer, you commit sexual immorality. If you eat calf fries, make steers or geldings, spade or neuter pets, or cut your dog's tail and ears you violate the Noahide Commandments.
Remember...
"Therefore, as the tares are collected and are consumed with fire, thus it will be at the
completion of the age. The son of man will send forth his angels and they will gather out of
his kingdom all the things leading to sin and the ones working against Torah. Matthew 13:40-41

Jesus." Revelations 14:9,12
"Many will say to me in that Day, 'L-rd, L-rd," did we not prophesy in your Name, and perform
many wonderful works in your Name? And I will confess to them: 'I never knew you! Get away
from me, you workers against Torah!" Matthew 7:21-24

have known Him," yet does not do His Commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in this
one." 1 John 2:3,4

written in their hearts,...." Romans 2:13,14a

willing to enter into life everlasting, observe the Command-ments." Matthew 19:17
"Beloved, if the heart ever may not be convicting, we are having free speech toward G-d and
which [most] likely we may be asking [of Him]: We are receiving from Him because we are
observing His Command-ments and we are doing things pleasing to His sight." 1 John 3:22
"What therefore? Should we sin because we are not under the Law but under undeserved kindness?
May it not happen! Have you not known that you are slaves to whomever you are obeying--to
whomever you are pre-senting [your]selves slaves into obedience--either of sin into death or of
obedience into righteousness? But thanks to G-d that you were slaves of the sin you obeyed but
out of [the] heart into [that] which you were given instead, a type of teaching--but having been
freed from the sin you were enslaved [to]--to righteousness." Romans 6:16
"Indeed I delight with G-d's Law, down to the inward man...." Romans 7:22
