Sextilis is the sixth month  (after Martius), and is  also referred to as Augustus, in honor of Caesar Augustus.

Portunalia is a festival sacred to Portunis, an alter ego of the god Janus. Portunis is connected with harbors, gates, and keys.

Opiconsivia - are the rites of Ops Consiva, or harvest abundance, conducted at a shrine in the Regia which no one except the Vestals may enter.

Volcanalia is a festival sacred to Volcanus, the fire god. On this day great bonfires are lit at night in his honor and feasts are held. Into the fire Romans throw pro animus humanis fishes from the Tiber.

Consualia is a festival that honors Consus, the god who protects the harvest which is now in storage at this time. The harvest grains are stored in underground vaults, and the temple of Consus is also
underground.
