How Toastmasters works?
At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. Members are given the chance to practice

  • Conducting meetings
  • Giving impromptu speeches
  • Presenting prepared speeches
  • Offering constructive evaluation

    How do I join?
Come to our meetings and we will tell you all about it.

How can I get in touch with SFU Toastmasters?
Send an email to toastmasters-exec@sfu.ca and we will get back to you.

    Why should I join Toastmasters?
Public speaking cannot be learned in a day. It takes practice. In Toastmasters, members improve their public speaking skills by giving speeches and getting constructive feedback from other members.

How are we different from other Toastmasters clubs?
  • We are composed of mostly SFU students/graduates.
  • We are not afraid to try new things when it comes to giving speeches or evaluations.
  • We are less formal compared to some of the other clubs.
