How Toastmasters works? At Toastmasters, members learn by speaking to groups and working
with others in a supportive environment. Members are given the
chance to practice
Conducting meetings
Giving impromptu speeches
Presenting
prepared speeches
Offering constructive evaluation
How do I join?
Come to our meetings and we will tell you all about it.
How can I get in touch with SFU Toastmasters?
Send an email to toastmasters-exec@sfu.ca and we will get back to you.
Why should I join Toastmasters?
Public speaking cannot be learned in a day. It takes practice.
In Toastmasters, members improve their public speaking skills
by giving speeches and getting constructive feedback from other
members.
How are we different from other Toastmasters clubs?
We are composed of mostly SFU students/graduates.
We are
not afraid to try new things when it comes to giving speeches or evaluations.
We are less formal compared to some of the other clubs.
