    WHO IS MNEMOSYNE?
    Mnemosyne was the Titan of memory.  She slept with Zeus for nine nights, and gave birth to the nine Muses.

    Zeus loved Mnemosyne with the beautiful hair: and of her the nine gold-crowned Muses were born who delight in feasts and the pleasures of song. -- Hesiod Theogony l. 915

     

    WHO ARE THE MUSES?
    The Muses are the Greek goddesses who preside over the arts and sciences and inspire those who excel in these pursuits.The Muses are the Greek goddesses wsciences and inspire
    The nine Muses finally established in the worship and imagination of the Greeks were: Clio (history), Calliope (epic poetry), Erato (love poetry),         Euterpe (lyric poetry), Melpomene (tragedy), Polyhymnia (song, rhetoric, and geometry), Thalia (comedy), Terpsichore (dancing), and Urania
    (astronomy and astrology). They were sometimes referred to as the Mneiae,and or remembrances.
