Romance Writers Against Domestic Violence: You can help!
In light of the recent events involving Nancy Richards-Akers as well as the two previous murders of RWA members resulting from domestic violence, The Heart of Texas Chapter of RWA is distributing buttons to concerned romance writers that read "Stop the Terror! Romance Writers Speak Out Against Domestic Violence."
We are asking for a minimum $1 donation with proceeds going to the Family Violence Prevention Fund, a nonprofit organization committed to educating law enforcement, judiciary, Child Protective Services, etc., as well as advocacy.
Buttons may be purchased by emailing Kristi Goldberg. We hope that you will pass this information on to your various email loops as well as local chapters and you'll join us in our efforts to prevent the worst kind of terrorism, family violence, through education.

About Our Chapter
Established in 1995, the Heart of Texas Chapter is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing ample opportunity for the aspiring writer to learn the craft of writing, and to understand the marketing process. Membership is open to any National RWA member, established romance authors, and aspiring writers interested in pursuing a career in romance writing.
Annual chapter dues are $18.00 for local members and $15.00 for out-of-state, or members past a 75 mile radius. Anyone interested in visiting the chapter first, may do so three times before joining. Monthly chapter meetings are held the second Saturday of each month at the Piccadilly Restaurant inside Richland Mall, Waco, Texas. Business begins at 1:00pm.
Membership in RWA, and local chapters, gives you a vested interest and vote in one of the most viable writing organizations in North America. Most important, it offers you an opportunity for networking with writers committed to excellence within the romance genre.
