THE TRUTH ABOUT THE DESTRUCTION OF THE EAT

Eddie's Long Day's Journey Into Night

"I don't know the person who wrote those songs."

Beware Of Lies And Propaganda
It has come to our attention that Eat guitarist, and Miami punk rock godfather, Eddie O'Brien has been disseminating some rather inaccurate information from his so-called Eat Web Page. In a pathetic attempt to deflect blame from himself for the destruction of The Eat, he has chosen to flood the web with wild conspiracy theories concerning the band's two known bass players. It is not our purpose here to condemn or criticize Ed. He is sick and he needs our help. Our purpose here is to provide a forum for some truthful information regarding The Eat, free from the delusional ravings of an obviously deranged psyche. Ed was once a brilliant and intuitive songwriter, a dazzling virtuoso musician and a magnetic and commanding stage presence. He now is a virtual recluse, spending his time roaming his suburban estate muttering about model railroading. He needs your help. The Eat has been one of the most 'fan friendly' punk bands for almost 20 years now. It is now time for the fans to give back to the band in it's time of need. Please buy our records or just send us some cash or a check. We assure you that all proceeds will go towards getting Eddie the help that he needs. The remaining three members of the band are trying to arrange a benefit concert as soon as a replacement for Eddie can be found. Some possibilities include Dirk Bill, Charlie Pickett, Jorma Kaukonen, Don Zimmer & Don Shula.
"With proper medication, there's no reason why Edward cannot become a functioning member of The Eat." - Dr. Fritz-Hans von Smeltinghausen
