Who Am I?

Erasmus of Rotterdam

by Rev. Paul A. Hughes, M.Div.

Who Am I? (Name the famous figure)

I was not English, but Thomas More* and I were great friends.

I criticized indulgences, monastics, and the veneration of saints and relics, but was lauded by Popes.

I am now acclaimed as a humanist, but believed in total commitment to Christ, denying the flesh, and the inerrancy of Scripture.

I died long before the King James Version, but was instrumental in its creation.

I am best known for my folly, but spent much more time on wisdom.

*Archbishop of Canterbury, called "The Man for All Seasons"
