unmasking a facade

She is a reality actress,
Hiding behind the realms of a facade.
She flits between the realism of her mind
to the stage,
In which the hard wooden paneling hurts
Cheering and booing as they please.
Tears flow behind the curtains,
Red, like the seeping blood of a wounded
soul.
Lines escape from her mouth,
her aching feet.
All around her is an audience,
Well-rehearsed, acted out before.
At the end of the day, she runs away to
her dressing room.
She stares at the reflection in the
mirror,
As the harsh, artificial light shines
down on her.
She peels the mask from her face,
And cowers at the sight.
