Upon searching many pages after the passage of Tupac
Shakur, I came to realize that not one I saw
expressed the person's feelings for him. They had
articles, lyrics, etc., but not one wrote what the
man meant to them. So I decided to do something
about that. As I present the continuing saga:
"The Resurrected"
Thug Memorial 2
A man has passed from this world, a man who held the
keys to knowledge of how this country should be
viewed and held. This man has done wrong, but the
right he has done far outweighs these slight
transgressions that most would hold to taint his
image. Most misunderstood his lyrics, judging
hastily by his genre and the individual words that
would be considered inappropriate. Most did not
listen to what he wanted to say; they did not hear
his message. Most have not seen the truth behind his
life; they see his life as a rapper in the light of
money, fame, and power. They have not seen the pain
of his early life without a father, the real
experience of being shot at on many occasions, the
humiliation of being charged and prosecuted for rape,
or the guilt that came from killing an innocent child
by accident.
Tupac Shakur was an accomplished man, a man of many
achievements. He was the first rapper to go platinum
on a double album, selling over six million copies.
He was the first rapper turned movie star, debuting
in Juice. He carried his acting career on to such
movies as Above the Rim, Poetic Justice, Grid Lock'd,
and Gang Related. He was also a talented writer who
wrote several poems which unfortunately where not
released until his untimely passing and he wrote all
of his own music. These accomplishments are only a
pale echo of what he would have done, given the time.
But, what he should be recognized for, above all, is
incarnating the Thug Life, that sacred institution by
which all Thug Disciples shall live.
He always stood up for what he believed in. He even
stood up to Dan Quayle during Quayle's sudden "family
values" trip. It seems he even died for what he
believed in. Rest in peace Tupac Shakur, I have
nothing but love and respect for you, fuck what
anyone else thinks. You where and still are the
greatest.
