And now, the characters in our party! Here we will go over the wonderful people continuing the saga of Lina Inverse's world.
Ara
Player: NPC
Sex: Female
Age: unknown - she's a Mazoku and no one can get a straight answer from her!
Height: 5'9"
Race: Mazoku
Family: Deep Sea Dolphin and a "brother"
First Appearance: bursting into the Peddler's Luck after being chased by three men in the first episode
Allergies: Smug people and fur
Appearance: Ara is very beautiful and knows it, so she dresses to accent it. She appears to be only in her mid-20s, but she is much older than that. She wears a dark red, floor-length Qi Pao dress slit up one side to reveal her thigh and bronze sandals that lace up her calves. Her fierce, vividly green eyes are almost hypnotizing. Her waist-length, dark blue hair cascades down her back from her ponytail, which is held in place by a braid wrapped around it. She carries a staff about her height, which is inset with what looks like a fist-sized diamond marked by a strange rune.
Information: She is a wandering priestess who has a shaded past. She never mentions any family but a brother; this is all the information anyone can ever get out of her before she abruptly changes the subject. In fact, there are only two things that are really known about Ara: she's a master of herb healing and her past in Hajime. She served at the Temple of Nightmares until the apparent robbery and breaking of a Claire Bible manuscript for which she was later pursued. She was found by the party having a suspicious conversation with Zoragath, who was convinced she has more power than she exhibits, after having been kidnapped by Elder Fesnic. After the party's confrontation with Zoragath, Ara abruptly changed personalities; she became happier and less responsive to teasing, gained knowledge about other party members, and acted even more mysteriously.
Extra: Ara is the priestess of Deep Sea Dolphin and by "priestess," I mean "of general and priest." She also seems to have some sort of problem with Xelloss, but isn't that a common sort of problem?
Leigh Fyresprey
Player: TenchiSama2875
Sex: Male
Age: 37
Height: 6'2"
Family: Delenn, Irvin, and Zethras
First Appearance: second person to rescue Ara in the first episode
Secret Ability: He reaches into subspace normally reserved for girls and pulls out a trout for random fish smackings!
Appearance: Leigh is a very muscled and tanned human who appears to only be in his mid-20s. His hair, which is down to his knees, is sea foam green, and his eyes are ice blue. He wears a blue tunic, decorated with golden Chinese dragons, and a pair of flowing, off-white pants. He wears Azurewrath, the replacement for Crainte Vomir, across his back. Azurewrath is a crystalline sword with a golden hilt and guard, which is shaped like an eagle's talons. At the end of the hilt, there is a large blood ruby. The four and a half foot blade looks like an ice crystal with a streak of blood in the center of the ice, but when "Azure Fire" is said, the ice "melts away" to reveal a blade of flame. In this form, Azurewrath increases fire spells. When "Azure Freeze" is uttered, the ice re-forms and the sword is then able to be sheathed.
Information: He's a former bandit whose group, including his wife Delenn and brother Irvin, was destroyed by someone. He was told by his benefactor, who gave him Crainte Vomir and other powers, that the murderer was Ueiko Crovaar, and he set out after him. Unfortunately, Crovaar was not the murderer, as Leigh later found out, because Crovaar is far too young to have done it. Equally unfortunate was an encounter with the Mazoku Zoragath, which caused him to seek the help of Head Priest Horus. Horus reversed Zoragath's seal on Leigh's magic but also undid his benefactor's work. While Ara took Crainte Vomir from Leigh, it is unknown how he acquired Azurewrath. Leigh is still in search of the murderers of his family.
Kurtzan
Player: NPC
Sex: Male
Age: considering he won't even admit he's a Mazoku, it's very doubtful you'd get his age
Height: 6'2"
Race: Mazoku
Family: unknown
First Appearance: eavesdropping in the seventh episode
Favorite Pastime: Playing with his sword (Get your mind out of the gutter!)
Appearance: Kurtzan appears to be in his mid-30s and a man who has seen a lot of action. He has white hair, which is just past his shoulders, is tied neatly back. His eyes are amber and menacing; if one looks closely, they will see that his eyes are slit sideways like a goat's. His impressive build isn't hidden by armor, but is covered by black, but elegant, traveler's clothes and a long, black, cape. His sword, Zorkunova, hangs from his left side. Zorkunova is a katana with a five foot blade; the blade looks like blue glass and feels and acts like water, and the hilt looks like it is made of living coral.
Information: Kurtzan is a soldier without a war. Not much else is known about him, except that he has a past with Leigh Fyresprey and Ara. He appears at the strangest times, has very quick reflexes, and acts suspiciously unemotional unless the situation requires him to show emotion. He is strongly suspected to be a Mazoku by the party, but the closest thing they've gotten from him is "I would have thought it was obvious" when he was asked about it.
Rofellos
Player: Zelchimera
Sex: Male
Age: looks young, maybe 20
Height: 5'9"
Family: Legálas and Tilia
First Appearance: young man drinking at the bar in the first episode
Favorite Saying: "If we have learned nothing else, we have learned to survive."
Appearance: Rofellos is slightly short for a human male but very handsome. His dark brown hair is cut just below his ears. He has a blue eye and a green one. He wears a brown hunter's cloak over a green tunic, brown pants, and polished leather armor. He also carries a longsword, and he is learning how to throw daggers from Mina Sanverse.
Information: Rofellos' mother, Tilia, taught him a little air magic when he was younger, and she decided he had potential, so she sent him to a mage school. After he finished his training, he returned home to find that his mother was dead. Legálas, his father, claimed that she died naturally, but Rofellos suspects otherwise. His father insisted that he learn to defend himself, so Rofellos took up a sword because Legálas feels a sword is the best defense.
Mina Sanverse
Player:
NPC
Sex: Female
Age: about the same as Lina Inverse
Height: a little taller than Lina Inverse (by a hair)
Family: mother and father
First Appearance: running over Rofellos in the fifth episode
Biggest No-No: Never mention the name "Lina Inverse" in Mina's presence - even if she mentions her first.
Appearance: She is short and "flat-chested" like Lina Inverse. She also has red hair and pink eyes, but she claims that they are dark orange and magenta, respectively. She wears an outfit similar to Lina's, though she claims this is coincidence, but where it is black on Lina's, it's white on Mina's - except for her head band, which is also black. The pink and white in Lina's outfit have also been changed to blue and black, respectively. She does not have anything resembling the Demon's Blood Talismans (thankfully), but she does carry several throwing daggers and a scimitar.
Information: Mina's parents were rich merchants who often did charity work. However, they would not give Mina her inheritance unless she traveled the countryside to see and help solve people's suffering. As a young girl, she set out to become the greatest sorceress as well as do her parents' bidding. Things went well for a few years, as she found she liked the open road, until she started hearing rumors of a "Bandit Killer," and she was mistaken for a "Lina Inverse". For a while she ignored what she heard, but she couldn't anymore when people would panic upon hearing "Mina Sanverse", thinking she was the Dragon Spooker. Annoyed to no end, Mina set out to destroy Lina Inverse and to fix her reputation.
Vincent Cloudstrife
Player: Vertex of Souls
Sex: Male
Age: 25
Height: 6'5"
Race: Human
Family: all dead
First Appearance: fighting Gerard Grelwick in Seyruun's capital in the fifth episode
Last Appearance: In the thirteenth episode, he and Rofellos were arrested in Hajime and put into city hall where the city's gunpowder had been transferred. Mina was a little overenthusiastic when she rescued them and used Fireball. Since he was not seen after the explosion, he is presumed dead.
Fun Use for Protoplasm: He squeezes it like a stress ball when he is having a hard time dealing with things. He occasionally whispers rants to himself while doing it.
Appearance: Vincent is very handsome, at least to most females (and maybe some males), both because of his looks and his muscular build. His favorite color seems to be dark navy blue because it is the color of most of his outfit. He wears a cape as a cloak, and it can easily be shrugged open. He wears leg, shoulder, and chest armor, all very dark blue, over a silk shirt and blue-black pants; his shoulder armor, like most anime men, sticks out from his shoulders. He wears black armored boots and more armor all down the left arm. He carries several weapons, including a staff, katana, and claymore.
Information: Since his mother died giving birth to him and his father was killed by a rival fighting instructor, Vincent decided to leave his home town, but as he was about to depart, an old man from the mountains around the village approached him with a proposal. The deal was if he went with the old man to train as a ninja and finish his combat training, he would get a chance to avenge his father's death. The shock of finding out that his father was murdered made Vincent agree. He spent the next few years in the mountains. When Vincent was 19, the old man, who was never referred to by his name for some odd reason, told Vincent that the day he could avenge his father had come. When he asked who it was, he was shocked to find out that the old man had killed his father; Vincent would have to kill his teacher. They battled to the death that evening. While Vincent won, he had made a sacrifice in the fight that nearly killed him. After an hour wandering through the woods, he got to a town, barely coherent; he was taken to the village doctor, and he barely survived. After waking, Vincent stayed in town long enough to heal and pay off his debt to the doctor. Then he left to explore the world and protect others from the ravages of the world.
Extra: Aside from having no time to take up magic, Vincent has very little magical talent; he can only cast Protoplasm and Lighting.
The staff he carries is actually his mother, who transferred her spirit into the staff at the time of her death for unknown reasons, but Vincent doesn't know it; she has found her way to him. The black staff is strangely unable to be harmed by spells and will not allow Vincent to hurt people with it; it flies out of Vincent's grip and lands five feet from him standing straight any time he attempts to do so. The staff is topped by a fist-sized, dark blue sphere, which the wood of the staff elegantly wraps around.
