Australian Flying Corps - 1914 to 1921.
The Australian Flying Corps was formed in 1914 in Australia in time for service in the great war. Aircraft operated by the AFC pre-date the A number scheme introduced in 1921. |

Series 1 - 1921 to 1935.
The first series of aircraft taken on charge by the newly formed Royal Australian Air Force. These aircraft were the first series allocated an A number serial number that all subsequent RAAF aircraft have worn. |

Series 2 - 1935 to 1960.
The second series of aircraft taken on charge by the Royal Australian Air Force. This series spanned the Second World War, as well as conflicts in Korea, Malaya and Vietnam. There is a wide diversity of types represented in this series, from prewar biplanes to the first jet fighers. |

Series 3 - 1961 to present.
The third and current series of aircraft. This series represents the modern era for the RAAF and new types are being added almost as you read this. Here you'll find favourites like the F-111, Huey and Hornet, and newcomers like the Wedgetail and C-17. |

Royal Australian Navy.
The RAN have only in recent times fitted in with the standard A number scheme. This section shows all the types operated by the RAN that you can build in 1/144th scale. |

Royal Australian Army.
The Australian Army operate both rotary and fixed wing aircraft. This section shows these, as well as AFVs available in scale. |

Other Types.
There are numerous instances of Australian squadrons operating aircraft not formally taken on charge by the RAAF. The most common occurence of this was RAAF squadrons serrving in the European or North African fronts flying RAF serialled aircraft, though this is not the only situation. This section features a number of types of note. |
