popchusa.htmlbohisattva this is an image of a bodhisattva who so longed to attain buddhahod that he would burn his body and bones as an offering to the Amitabha Buddha. The rice like container on top of thehead is an offering to the buddha the face is so damaged that it is barely discernable. The sculpturing of the robe the skirt and the knotted tie string is rather crude .The whole figure looks weighted down by the great offering.
