X-Factor 149- July 8
Ok, here we go. This one starts off with Greystone in his little kid form talking to himself in some room building something. Then he shouts his own name. We find out his first name is Devlin. Anyways, you know what he's building by the way hes talking. Hes building a time machine. He can't stop talking about the way we needs to get back to his own time. He's talking about how the X.U.E finished everything they came to this time to do. He has to get back to his own time. Next you see Alex in his bed. He's sleeping and the narration talks about how his powers absorb ambient cosmic blah blah blah, and how he needs to release sometimes. Then out of nowhere, he blasts. He wakes up and thinks to himself about how he hasn't done that in a while. He gets up, putson his uniform, and starts dialing the phone. On the next page you see Cyclops pick up his phone in Alaska. They have their family talk and Alex predictably appologizes for everything that has happened in the past few months. Next page you see Madrox playing tag with a bunch of himselves, when they see a green thing in the sky. They do the superman thing. Look up in the sky, its a bird, its a plane, its....Superbabe!!! Thats when Polaris comes down for the sky. They all takle her and they start talmking about what the right hing to do is. Madrox starts talking about how it will be old times when they get Guido and Rahne back, and maybe even Quicksilver. Polaris comes back with, "No! It will not!". Meanwhile...You see Fixx knoking on Greystone's door. She says he's going to be late for Alex's meeting. He comes out looking like crap. They start walking to the meeting, when he asks her if she ever thought about going home. She knew what he was thinking, so she told him to forget about it, and how if they went back, it would change things again. He goes psycho and slams her up against a wall, asking how she knows. Shard steps in and everything breaks up. Next page you see Havok and Archer shaking hands. It turns out that Archer is leaving to take care of Jude Black's family because he lost his real family and he doesn't want to lose them again. Archer tell Havok that hes not real good with goodbyes so he hands Alex a letter to give the rest of the team. Then he walks out. Polaris steps in and sees Alex with the letter and tells him that it better not be for her. Alex stutters and says its not. Now its time for the meeting. Alex steps up and starts talking about the team. "So...what is X-Factor?". He starts talking about how they are now going to become more proactive and public even though some may not like them. They show everybody standing there. Shard and Fixx. Polaris. Madrox. They show Madrox and Greystone freaks out. He gets all big and jumps after Madrox screaming that he needs to die and that he'll betray betray everyone. Greystone is obviously referring to something Madrox will do in the future. Alex steps up and says if Greystone if wants Madrox, Greystone with have to go through him. Greystone goes running off. Madrox makes a funny remark(I love those). Fixx says she'll go after hiom, but Alex is hell-bent on making the tdeam work so he says they're a team, they'll all go. Next you see Greystone in a room gettig stuff together. He's talkinmg to himself saying the machines done and that he can go home now. the team end up at the door. Its one of Forge's underground labs. Fixx says shes worried about Greystone. In their future Madrox never betrayed anyone. She says he may be going through temporary insanity. Alex tells her to send some of her fairy things in and get him calmed down. A firy goes in and gets in his head, but he goes mental and forces it out. Fixx goes down from the psychic backlash. She tells Havok that hes built a spae-time distortion vehicle. He tels Fixx he'll try to talk to him. Lorna tries to step in, but to no avail although he tells Lorna that if he doesn't make it out, she leads the team.. Alex starts running after the plane. He takes a jump and makes it on barely. next you see greystone in the cockpit rambling about how hes coming home. Alex opens rthe door to the plane while its moving, but then realizes that the hangar door is still closed so he sends a plasma burst. BOOM. It opens and they are sent up in the air. Havok gets in the cockpit and is very calmly talking to Greystone asking him what hes doing. Greystone simply replies, "Going Home". "Really. And how exactly are you planning on doing that? I was just wondering, because Fixx seems to think that the device you built than a big bomb." Greystone starts getting a little more sane when he hears that Fixx was worried about him. Greystone tries to explain how the bomb works when he discovers that he was wrong. Greystone tells Alex to get a parachute, but Alex says they're going disarm it together. Because why....? You guessed it, they're a team. The casing ends up to be stuck, so Havok tries to get it off with a burst(smart). The rest of the team comes out from the lab. Next you see in the sky. BBBBBOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!! Polaris protects everyone from the debris. Alex and Greystone are both dead.
In my opinion, this was a good issue. Alex took the whole team thing a little too far. My main problem with this issues was Greystone. He was totally normal in every other issue, but in this one, he goes psycho. Mackie should've set it up a little. Oh well. It would have been a nice team, if the whole Mutant thing wasn't happening. Anyways, go get this issue. It was a fairly good way to end things.
