llow me to introduce myself...	or, should I say, my selves.
For, many can be the FORMS,	and many the FACES,
	of the man called Doctor Strange!

am your host, Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme. Born Stephen Strange, I became a famous surgeon, renowned world wide for both my medical skills, and my outrageously high bills, before an automobile accident destroyed the nerves in my hands and a very financially lucrative career. Spiritually shattered by the loss of my aristocratic lifestyle and income, I became a derelict. After years of stumbling aimlessly about, wallowing in self pity, and succumbing to alcoholism, I heard rumors of a mysterious entity known only as the "Ancient One." Following a trail of whispers and the path of my destiny I finally located this Ancient One - who became my master and trained me in all things mystical. Thus I became his faithful servant and student, ultimately replacing him as Sorcerer Supreme, Adept Arcane, and mystical protector of the planet Earth, the magickal plane enveloping it, and many of the adjacent dimensions. Welcome to my Sanctum Sanctorum.

am also, in reality, a comic book character created by Stan Lee in 1963. I first appeared in Strange Tales #110. I have appeared in numerous comic titles over the ensuing years, and taken part in many of the most epic battles of the Marvel universe. Of course I have also had my own comic book title, off and on, for 36 years. This site is dedicated to the fans of the comic book character known as Doctor Strange. I know you're out there...

nd, finally, I am the creator of this web page, and one of several IRC users who from time to time adopt the online persona of the heroic Sorcerer Supreme. I am a great fan of Doctor Strange, and a collector of the comic book series. For many years, because of my interest in everything STRANGE, on IRC and on various BBSes I have usually gone by the nickname "DrStrange". With that in mind, I also decided to use the name "stephenstrange" as my geocities alias and to call my homepage here the "Sanctum Sanctorum" after the Doctors' brownstone mansion in the comic. Here I hope to share, with everyone on the net, a little of my fascination for the comic bookcharacter which I have enjoyed for so many years. I want to thank Stan Lee and Steve Ditko [ the ones who created Doc in the first place], and all the other people who have worked so hard over the years on the various versions of the master of the mystic arts, who are responsible for making Doctor Strange my favorite character of the Marvel universe, and also for giving me so many years of reading enjoyment.
